Congress Agenda Suggests, Promote Hybrid Vehicles
Turning to the environmental issues, the voiceless green vehicles gained considerable respect and popularity in the United States, but at the same time it has imposed threat to the blind people, who come out of their house to breath and experience the freshness of the air.
Good news now! The silence of green vehicles will soon become a past-tense as the bill 379-30 has already been passed by the house, after the blind pedestrian’s advocate raised their concern for the pedestrians’ safety, who uses sound cues for traveling on the roads, and the quiet purr of the green cars were imposing them high risk. Under the bill, the auto safety regulators are required to set up a sound threshold or limits for electric and hybrid vehicles. Since the electric and hybrid car market is booming rapidly, automakers have welcomed the concern and responded immediately on the changes to be made in their future green cars.
Not only blind, but the minute sound was a hitch for me as well as many a times I personally was unable to notice these cars, especially when they were traversing in lower speeds. And I believe, small children and joggers might face the same dilemma, which I did. I really thank the Congress administration and the advocates, to take immediate action on this wonderful concern.
Although, if you are cautious enough you would be able to hear a louder sound due to the friction between road surface and the tire, but is it always possible? What if we are on an emergency phone call? The artificial sound should follow the same old vehicle sound pattern, so that everybody would be comfortable walking on the roads, as they were walking previously. Similarly, a standard pattern of sound should be followed during departing or entering a parking space, backing up, stopping or slowing down the vehicle. All in all, a good concern raised and prompt measure taken by the congress. Hope they prove to be effective enough.
